about
I
grew up in the Midlands with my parents and younger brother. I
always wanted to be a writer and got my first typewriter when I was
ten. For a while, I was going to be a
pilot and learnt to fly a plane before I could drive a car. Now, I'm
scared of heights. Over the years, I have also been a private
investigator, bar maid, car cleaner, fruit picker, accounts clerk,
nursery nurse, waitress...
So I was writing, travelling, meeting my future husband, travelling
some more, writing some more and then I had three children (not all
at once), lived in
Australia and the USA, came back to England and bought an old
farmhouse to renovate. We're still renovating after 7 years. (Now
we've started again in an old town house!)
In 2003, I won a short story competition and subsequently had a
genre novel published by a small
independent press. Now I have an agent and
Headline are my publishers with my debut mainstream novel
BLOOD TIES
being released in hardback 5th April 2007 and paperback 20th
September 2007. UNSPOKEN, my next novel, will follow in 2008.
